A Knowledge Category serves as a structured classification system for articles within the Ñimbl Knowledge Hub. We've identified exactly 4 categories that encompass all the explicit and tacit knowledge of a company.

Its main purpose is to help readers to find information easily and writers to have more structured thoughts while documenting knowledge.

Ñimbl Knowledge Hub comes with precisely 4 main categories. We do not recommend to extend this list. Sometimes, different sub-variants within each category prove to be useful to provide specialised templates.

A single topic may span across multiple pages of various types within the Ñimbl Knowledge Hub. Each page type offers a unique perspective or dimension of the topic, contributing to a comprehensive understanding.

Differentiation Dimensions

  1. Reader's Context: The Categories should meet the reader where they are and especially help them to quickly assess the relevance of an article for them.
  2. Structure and Content: Each category has a different way of organizing and presenting information, like giving an overview or giving step-by-step instructions.
  3. Update Triggers and Verification Period: Some categories need to be checked and updated more often than others, depending on how much things change.
  4. Publishing Committee: Different people might need to help decide what goes into each category, depending on what it's about.

The Knowledge Categories are for explicit and tacit knowledge, whereas fleering notes belongs into the Ñimbl Capture Stream and are categorised by Capture Categorys.
